Institutional Investors is one of the most influential publications for global investment firms. The “2020 All Asia Executive Team (Basic Materials) Ranking” compiled by the magazine aims to acknowledge companies and business leaders for steadfastly upholding corporate governance principles and fulfilling environmental and social responsibilities while maintaining high transparency when communicating with investors. This year’s survey covered 1,472 listed companies in Asia across 18 sectors. The winners were selected by polling conducted by nearly 2,532 buy-side and sell-side analysts and fund managers based on nine criteria. These criteria include the accessibility of senior executives; how informative and empowered the IR team is to speak authoritatively on the company's behalf; timely and appropriate financial disclosure; quick and thorough response to requests, integral corporate governance structure, in-depth reports on ESG metrics, etc. The “Most Honored Company” winner must place among the top three in at least two categories selected by buy-side and sell-side investment professionals (including “Best CEO” and “Best CFO”).
